Father Sijo is a member of the congregation of the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI). He was born on March 10, 1982 in Kerala, India. His parents still live there. He attended local schools and joined the seminary in 1997, at the age of 15. He made his religious profession on September 8, 2001. In college, Fr. Sijo earned a Bachelor of Philosophy degree from Dharmaram Vidya Kshetram, Bangalore (2002-2004), a Bachelor of Commerce from Christ University Bangalore (2005-2008) and a Bachelor of Theology from Samanvaya Theological College, Bhopal (2008-2012). Later, he completed his Master’s degree of Arts and Literature in English from Indira Gandhi National Open University in New Delhi. Fr. Sijo was ordained to the priesthood on December 28, 2011. Soon after his Ordination, he worked as the Rector of a minor seminary in Maharashtra, India and an associate pastor in a parish. In his spare time, he enjoys playing basketball and volleyball.
